Edit drawings with Web CAD,
Check architectural models with a 3D viewer

When looking for a CAD program or 3D tool, first decide whether you want to create drawings or review already-made models. Glazir Draft is a tool for web-based 2D·3D drawing editing, and Glazir Viewer is a tool for checking the shape and properties of exported architectural models.

Web CAD·2D Drawing·3D Shape Editing: Glazir Draft

In Glazir Draft, you can create drawings in your browser and edit 2D·3D shapes. Repeated drawings can be defined and used as templates with standards and rules.

  1. Prepare Work Target: Decide on the drawing to create and the required standards, and prepare a template or GLZ file you will use.
  2. Drawing Creation·Editing: Create the necessary shapes and check dimensions and layout. Refer to the user manual for detailed drawing tools and the editing order.
  3. Save·Reuse: Save the results as GLZ and use them for repeated drawing tasks.

In GLZ files with Revit linking information, you can check the supported family and parameter workflows. Refer to the Revit Linking Guide for applicable targets and conditions.

Architecture 3D·BIM Models to Check Without Installation: Glazir Viewer

When someone else needs to check the model you designed, you can use a web 3D viewer. Glazir Viewer is a tool that opens glTF architectural models exported from Revit in a browser and allows you to select objects to check their properties.

  1. The author prepares the model to be shared from Revit.
  2. Export the model using the Exporter included in Glazir Agent.
  3. Check the model's geometry and object properties in Glazir Viewer.

This is different from directly editing the original Revit RVT in a web viewer. Make sure the exported result includes the necessary objects and properties.

Questions about CAD·3D Files and Usage Environment

Can DWG·DXF·SKP Files Also Be Edited As They Are?

The Draft save format described in this guide is GLZ, and the Viewer workflow is based on the glTF model exported from Revit. If DWG, DXF, or SKP files are needed, please inquire about file formats and import/export support before implementation.

Can I edit the original drawings in the 3D viewer?

Viewing models in the Viewer and editing drawings in Draft are different tasks. If you need to modify the original CAD/BIM files, select the tool based on the required objects and changes.

Can it be used on a mobile phone?

This product guide is configured to be readable on a mobile phone as well. Actual drawing editing and model viewing usability should be checked depending on the device, browser, and model size. Chrome and Edge are recommended for the Viewer product introduction.
